Sup guys, had a pretty epic weekend. It was my Bachelor party in St. Louis Fri-Sun, then Monday drove to Nashville and saw Blink.

It was an outside venue, with around ~4,800 capacity. So a pretty small show, the weather was amazing. All-American Rejects were actually pretty good, A Day To Remember had some nice hardcore riffs, but none of the lyrics really captivated me.

It was a pretty solid setlist, and the boys sounded great. Skiba's guitar tone is so fucking crisp and he was on point. I was really stoked to hear "Cynical" and especially "No Future". I wanted to hear "Kings Of The Weekend" sooo bad, and Travis even started the drum intro, but then they decided to play "M+M's".

We had pretty decent seats, I didn't drink at all, or really take many pictures. Just wanted to soak it all in.

Once the show was over, I ran up front to get a picture of Trav's drumset, and I noticed one of their roadies named James picking up the setlist. I yelled his Instagram name (@jamesisntcool) and he laughed and pointed to me and told the guy to give me the setlist. Here it is framed (you can see the "audible" for M+Ms):
Image

Afterwards we waited by Trav's bus, and he came out within 10 minutes. There was only about 5 of us (and a weird gate in between us, so he really couldn't tell how many of there were). I yelled for him, and he just waved and got on the bus. He did send someone out to give us FSAS stickers and apologize, they had an 8 hour drive to Cleveland overnight and had to bounce. Was hoping to get the setlist signed, but at least he acknowledged us and gave us free stickers lol.

I also scooped up the limited tour vinyl, and the Nashville poster which I framed yesterday:

Overall it was an awesome show, they sounded "off" a bit on Violence, and Mark messed up Cynical a bit, but they sounded great. The stage banter was gone, but whatever I'll take the crispy guitar and non-slurring singer over that any day.

Stoked to see them again next month!

Yeah that was one of the lamest things Blink has done yet since the new album. Like guys, the original video was dumb but a classic Blink thing...this is just trying way too hard.

Best post ever haha

I second that haha. This should be an internet meme.

Perfectly sums up in one picture why Tom, this band, and his company are a complete laughing stock to the general public.

Re: The blink-182 General Discusion

"Blink is in my DNA, I talk to Travis quite a bit and we try and figure out how and when it’s going to make sense. It’s not like I walked away. They have someone doing my job for me. It’s just that I’m so busy. If I wanted to, I could be back in a period of days."

“I still own the band,” he noted, before quickly clarifying that he, Hoppus and Barker “own everything” blink-related.

"Oh, yeah, I miss the relationship we had, and the growth, and the crazy times. But I don’t miss the grind, like, every band has a grind, so you have to love it so much that you tolerate the grind. And, being on tour was such a grind. I didn’t love it enough; it was too much disruption for me. And playing the same songs every night and moving your body with your guitar, it felt like you were ‘vogue-ing,’ like you were faking it. ‘Here’s the same song again — 1, 2, 3, 4!’ I felt like a robot. That’s when I said: ‘I need a break.’ But, now, the grind to announce what we will be announcing soon and to do these books and the movie is unreal! And this is by far the biggest thing I’ve ever had in my life. It’s way bigger than I ever had with the band."

Someone get Tom DeLonge a media consultant or something, if Mark or Travis come out and simple say that he's talking shit, he's gonna have the media on his back all over again. Such a stupid thing to say.

He does it intentionally, he wants to promote Gods and get some attention from the press before his next 'announcement' it's all intentional. He's suddenly in the press because of all the blink stuff, but hes also getting free advertising for his TTS projects. I don't remotely he believes any of that and is just milking the angle for publicity.

Parking Lot is already so much better than the original album. Skiba sounds like Skiba and the riffs actually sound like Skiba riffs and not pre2003 DeLonge riffs.

I actually pre ordered it.

I've barely listened to Alkaline Trio and that was my first thought. However, full disclosure, California seriously grew on me. My original opinion hasn't really changed, but I do enjoy it now just to enjoy it. I'm hoping this side of their efforts is less about mainstream popularity than the first release.

As a big blink fan over AVA... I hate California and Parking Lot is more of the same. terrible production, terrible lyrics, nonsensical repetative elements (nanas and whoas shoved everywhere, pointless gang vocals) its just gross at this point.
I don't know whats worse, Tom not giving a shit about music remotely or Mark and Travis having a writer-for-hire with Feldmann and producing tweeny music for money.

I feel disappointed towards Mark and I don't care about blink-182 anymore as long as Feldmann is in the band's line up. He was talking so much shit about the current situation of the band and how Tom was dragging everything down when this situation clearly didn't make the music any better but worse. They desperately need Tom or someone that actually has the balls to move the music forward rather than backwards.
