The Future of The AVA Movement

Updates about what's going on with the website.

The Future of The AVA Movement

by Skalor on Tue Apr 19, 2011, 1:06pm

.
What will happen:

• We plan on majorly updating the site, giving no more details then that.
• I say 'we' because I hope to get many new people involved in taking the site further.

When will this happen:

• Complete surprise date. Depending on when its all finished.
• Definitely before November, needs to be out before the release.

How can people get involved:

• Just talk about ideas, suggestions on this thread and suggestions forum.
• If you're very confident about something you can offer in particularly. Message me.

Last note:

Im posting this thread so people don't get concerned about the lack of updates. I wont be active on the forum for the next few weeks because I'm working on my final graphic design university work. I look forward to revealing some of the design work I've kept hidden away. After this is when I hope to spent more time on the website before I get a full time job lol!

Thanks to everyone who who continues to visit. I hope to never let the site end. (Well until i'm 60 and there's nothing left to talk about regarding AVA, I bet music will have gone down a really freak route at this point).

Ditto ^_^

I'd say a LOVE themed design... It would look so cool. Also, I dunno what program or page you used to create the design, but some give the user the ability to change the theme color. That could work.

yeah i think an integral chat system would be good! Like the one we have now but brought to the front of the site perhaps, i think that will help create a 'community' as opposed to a forum.

I know some people will rage that its an AVA site but i think we definitely need a blink-182 section to keep the rival clans apart!

Is there anyway we can integrate the site with Modlife? Share the same profile sections or something (even if just through a link) I like the idea of Modlife profiles yet never really use it!

I applaud the surprise date, it is enough from keeping us freaked out when we sign on one day and everything is different and what not, and it doesnt make you look as bad if something sets you back.

Can't wait to see what you're doing with the place! :)

I think the forum is definitely where the community is at. A live chat will only ever be an 'add on' I think. Why? Because on a forum you can make far more impact and have thorough discussions that everyone hears irrelevant of time and location. In a live chat, people discuss something and it's both deleted and forgotten within 30mins-hour.

I think a live chat can work to some degree but will only have about 2-5 chatting at a time max I bet. I just dont know where to put it, front of the homepage? Top of forum? Perhaps only a small version of the chat which allows you to see 3-5 lines but when you click opens in a window?

Except you'll know i'll deliver ;)

Awesome Matty. I'm going to be super busy with school for the next 2 months, it's my last year before university, so I won't be around a lot. I will be ready to help during the summer though. :)

I don't really feel the need to have a live chat, I barely use the one we have now. Something like the Facebook chat would be nice though.. An icon on a corner that opens up to a little window.
I'd say a mobile mini-site/forum is much more important. An iPhone app would be awesome, don't know if any of you guys know how to work on that.

I love the site as it is already. The only thing I can suggest
is when you post, it doesn't take you to that page asking if you want to return to the topic.

Oh and maybe like 3 different backgrounds/templates to choose from.

Sounds very interesting! I'm still committed to coming here and still get a lot out of the place i.e. info, laughs, connections with people etc.

As for ideas - I'm old so don't have any, it's a miracle I'm even on this thing called the internet :D Someone said you can get free porn on the internet, is that true and if so where do I find it?

Awesomesauce. I love the idea of different site templates. Chat sounds a little "meh" to me. I like the forum better. Alsoooo... More *updated* remixes sometime soon (especially club. don't hate on my preference haha) would totally make my day! :D
